Job Description

Summary

This job involves protecting people and property at a forensic psychiatry center by handling security, fire safety, and occupational safety tasks, including maintaining electronic alarm systems and conducting environmental checks around the facility.

Key Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • One year of experience in security guard or public safety for Fire and Safety Officer 6 level
  • One year of experience equivalent to Fire and Safety Officer 6 for E7 level
  • No felony convictions that prohibit possessing or carrying a firearm
  • Valid driver's license

This position is responsible for safeguarding people and property at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry buildings, facilities and grounds.

Duties include security, fire safety and occupational safety responsibilities in the Safety Department.

Position is responsible for coordination and maintenance, in the testing and modification of the Simplex Grinnell electronic fire and safety alarm system.

    Education
    Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

    Experience

    Fire and Safety Officer 6
    One year of experience in a security guard or public safety occupation. 

    Fire and Safety Officer E7
    One year of experience equivalent to a Fire and Safety Officer 6. 

    Additional Information

    Absence of a criminal record of felony convictions which would prohibit the applicant from receiving, possessing, and carrying a firearm.

    Possession of a valid driver’s license.
