Job Description

Summary

This role involves leading a team of fire and safety officers on the morning shift at a psychiatric hospital, where you'll oversee daily safety tasks, schedule work, and train staff to keep the facility secure.

It's a hands-on position that requires participating in safety duties while guiding others.

A good fit would be someone with prior experience in fire and safety roles, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to protecting vulnerable patients in a healthcare setting.

  • Two years of experience as a Fire and Safety Officer, including one year at E7 level or equivalent

The employee serves as a lead worker overseeing other fire and safety officers while participating in the work. The employee has the responsibility for all fire and safety officer activity on an assigned shift(s). The employee schedules assignments and provides training and work instructions to subordinate fire and safety officers.

The preferred and appointed candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing.

    Requirements

    Education
    Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

    Experience
    Two years of experience equivalent to a Fire and Safety Officer, including one year equivalent to a Fire and Safety Officer E7.

    Additional Information

    Absence of a criminal record of felony convictions which would prohibit the applicant from receiving, possessing, and carrying a firearm.

    Possession of a valid driver’s license.
