The Administrative Office of the Courts is excited to welcome a skilled and motivated Financial Services Analyst – Payroll to our team.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and overall integrity of our payroll and accounting processes critical functions that support courts and staff across the state.

Status: Regular, Full-Time

Location: Olympia, Washington

Salary: Range 56: $63,252 - $82,872 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION


AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to interview and currently reside outside of Washington State, seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager of this recruitment.


This position requires you to be in the office at least three (3) days per week.

Requirements


Some of the duties you will perform are:

  • Prepares reports tax forms 941, shared leave
  • Processes payroll, leave, and out of State tax transactions for judicial branch departments.
  • Processes new hire, transfers, retirement and termination paperwork.
  • Runs, Reviews and verifies financial documentation such as budget codes day four payroll reports.
  • Monitors and reconciles financial data, prepares journal vouchers, and verifies accounts receivable.
  • Responds to client inquiries regarding benefits, leave and payment status, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Supports higher-level staff by assisting with report analysis, business process improvements, and development of internal financial procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications


A combination of relevant education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the Financial Services Analyst may be considered in the meeting the qualifications.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely allied field INCLUDING 10 Semester or 15 quarter hours of college level accounting


OR

  • Two (2) years of experience in fiscal bookkeeping or fiscal recordkeeping.


AND


  • 10 Semester or 15 quarter hours of college level accounting.


THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


  • Demonstrates foundational knowledge of accounting practices, state governmental accounting procedures, automated accounting systems, and general office technology, state payroll practices
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft 365 products, including Teams, Outlook, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, and others, with expertise appropriate to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Meets productivity standards and deadlines by effectively organizing time, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating multiple assignments.
  • Understands customer expectations, adapts to change, and delivers reliable, high-quality service with strong attention to detail.
  • Communicates clearly in both oral and written formats and maintains professional working relationships with coworkers, management, and clients.
  • Identifies risks and problems, evaluates potential outcomes, and provides recommended solutions to supervisors.
  • Demonstrates foundational knowledge of accounting practices, state governmental accounting procedures, automated accounting systems, and general office technology.
  • Uses email, word processing applications, and other office tools proficiently to support accurate recordkeeping and workflow.
