Tacoma Power's Rates, Planning, and Analysis (RPA) team is looking for a Financial Planning Supervisor to manage Tacoma Power’s financial planning function focused on ensuring the long-term financial stability of the Utility.
Tacoma Power's Rates, Planning, and Analysis (RPA) team is seeking a talented Financial Planning Manager to manage Tacoma Power’s financial planning function focused on ensuring the long-term financial stability of the Utility.

Responsibilities include:
  • Management of the Power utility debt portfolio, including short-term and long-term financing strategies using a variety of complex financial instruments for ensuring the Utility’s long-term financial stability.
  • Development and maintenance of Tacoma Power’s Long-Range Financial Plan, including alternatives and scenarios that convey an understanding of the utility’s financial risk exposure for decision-making.
  • Development of Tacoma Power’s revenue requirement forecasts and system average retail rates.
  • Development of presentations and recommendations for long-term financial planning strategies and financial policy changes to executive leadership, Public Utility Board, Tacoma City Council, sub-committees, and other policymakers.
  • Maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including financial advisors, bond counsel, and rating agencies.

All duties are performed with a primary focus on ensuring the immediate and long-term financial stability and viability of the organization, maintaining low-cost power to our customers, ensuring stable and consistent rates, preparing for the future in a dynamic and evolving industry, and maintaining a solid financial rating for the power utility.

The individual selected for this position will join the broader Rates, Planning & Analysis (RPA) team.

Made up of high-performing critical thinkers, RPA is dedicated to high quality work, ingenuity, and cross-functional collaboration while building and maintaining trust.

The department uses these strengths to best serve Tacoma Power and its customers as trusted financial leaders, delivering objective, quality, and data-driven analysis to sustain Tacoma Power’s financial strength and affordability.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement upon the completion and approval of a telework request.

Requirements

Minimum Education*
Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, or directly related field such as finance

Minimum Experience*
5 years of progressively responsible analytical and/or program coordination/management work in area related to assignment including 1 year prior at senior, lead and/or supervisory level

*Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education

Pay Details:

Annual Salary: $131,248.00 - $184,808.00
