Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling day-to-day financial tasks for a military recreation program, such as tracking money coming in and out, preparing reports, managing budgets, and overseeing payroll for employees.

It supports decision-making for leaders and ensures everything follows standard accounting rules.

A good fit would be someone with solid experience in finance or accounting, strong attention to detail, and good communication skills to work with teams and HR.

Key Requirements

  • Progressively responsible work experience in financial management or related accounting roles
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear and grammatically correct writing
  • Ability to design, manage recurring reports, and create electronic databases
  • Experience maintaining subsidiary ledgers for revenue, accounts receivable, payable, accruals, prepaid, and fixed assets
  • Skills in developing, monitoring, and analyzing financial statements and data
  • Familiarity with budget formulation, execution, monitoring, and audit preparation per DoD guidelines
  • Proficiency in payroll administration, timekeeping, benefits coordination, and HR liaison duties

A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Progressively responsible work experience that includes a practical application of the above described or related work experience. 2.

Must have knowledge of GAAP accounting procedures. 3. Must be able to communicate in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner and be able to write. 4.

Must know how to design and manage recurring reports and create and manage electronic databases. Major Duties:

  • Responsible for the accuracy of accounting transactions and timeliness of accounting related documents. Maintains subsidiary ledgers for revenue, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, prepaid and fixed assets.
  • Develops, monitors, reviews and analyzes financial statements and financial data as required to assist management in decision making.
  • Determines that all transactions are properly processed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, NAF accounting requirements and Defense Finance and Accounting services regulations
  • Assist in the formulation, execution and monitoring of operating and capital budgets in accordance with DoDCC guidelines. Assist Financial Manager in coordination and preparation of required annual audit.
  • Responsible for administration of payroll and related functions. Serves as the primary liaison between Human Resources and DoDCC employees. Serves as the primary time keeper, benefits coordinator, and coordination of personnel actions.
