One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: collecting, measuring, analyzing and reporting financial management data; OR developing and implementing dynamic data visualizations and interactive reporting; OR identifying areas for new content based on the needs of the organization; OR supporting larger enterprise management initiatives.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.

** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing.

** You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major Duties:

  • Develops and executes the strategy for gathering and analyzing data in order to drive meaningful results.
  • Reviews data and identifies new areas for required content in order to measure and provide predictive analysis based on the changing business needs of each supported customer.
  • Utilizes expert knowledge of finance and accounting processes, regulations, and systems to assess and improve upon the reliability, usability, and relevance of the data housed in DFAS systems.
  • Develops complex and intricate analytic studies where the boundaries of the studies are extremely broad and difficult to determine in advance.
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals for complex financial and accounting projects impacting the accomplishment of Data Governance Strategic Initiative objectives.
