Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling financial planning, travel approvals, supply requests, and tracking government property to keep Navy operations running smoothly and in line with rules.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-09 level or equivalent in financial management, budget execution, travel, supply requisitioning, or property accountability
  • Knowledge of DoD and Navy regulations for compliance in financial, travel, logistics, and property management
  • Proficiency in serving as a Travel Authorizing Official, including reviewing travel authorizations and vouchers per Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)
  • Experience providing guidance on travel entitlements, funding, and documentation
  • Skills in property management, including record reviews, reconciliations, inventories, transfers, and disposals for audit readiness
  • Ability to use Navy ERP for processing financial transactions like commitments, obligations, and expenditures
  • Support for audits, funding documents, financial reports, and MILSTRIP requisitioning with discrepancy resolution

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst of NAVY MUNITIONS COMMAND, CONUS WEST DIV.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing financial management and administrative functions to support budget execution, travel, supply requisitioning, and property accountability.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will provide integrated financial, travel, logistics, and property management support to ensure effective execution of command resources, compliance with DoD and Navy regulations, and sustained mission readiness.
  • You will serve as a Travel Authorizing Official (AO), reviewing and approving travel authorizations and vouchers in compliance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and NMCPAC CWD policy.
  • You will provide guidance to travelers on travel entitlements, funding availability, and required documentation.
  • You will perform Property Specialist duties, maintaining accountability and oversight of government property and general equipment.
  • You will conduct property record reviews, reconciliations, inventories, transfers, and disposals to ensure audit readiness and data accuracy.
  • You will utilize Navy ERP to process and monitor financial transactions, including commitments, obligations, and expenditures.
  • You will assist in preparing, reviewing, and executing funding documents and financial reports.
  • You will support internal and external audits by providing documentation, analysis, and corrective action support.
  • You will perform MILSTRIP requisitioning reviews, ensure accurate submission, tracking, funds validation, and resolution of discrepancies in accordance with NMCPAC CWD policy.
