Summary

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05 for GS-07 level, including government micro-purchase credit card coordination, transactional accounting, time and attendance service, or budget execution
  • For GS-09 level, one year equivalent to GS-07, including assisting in budget formulation, reviewing budget requests, interpreting budgetary policies, performing financial studies, and researching accounting information
  • Familiarity with budgetary, accounting, and financial practices, procedures, regulations, and policies
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial source information and apply it to specific work areas
  • Experience applying functions, goals, objectives, work processes, and funding sources to track dollar figures
  • 52 weeks of documented relevant experience in federal, private, or public sector (paid or unpaid, including volunteer work)

For the GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Government Micro purchase Credit Card/Agency Program Coordinator; 2) Transactional accounting or prior year accounting; 3) Time & Attendance Customer Service Representative or timekeeper; 4) Budget execution.

This experience must be at least 52 weeks and documented in your resume.

For the GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assist in the formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs and activities; 2) Review and evaluate budget requests, control and reporting of obligations and expenditures; 3) Interpreting development, determination of budgetary policies and practices; 4) Performing studies and/or assisting other with full scale studies; 5) Researches guides to locate accounting, budgetary, and financial information and/or prepares summaries for use by managers.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will apply functions, goals, objectives, work processes, and funding sources efficient to related needs and accomplishments to anticipated or actual dollar figures.
  • You will use commonly used budgetary, accounting, and/or financial administration practices, procedures, regulations, and policies of the organization.
  • You will analyze and interpret source information and applying it to specific areas of work.
