Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves going door-to-door in Aurora, Illinois, to interview people and collect data for a special census project run by the U.S. Census Bureau.
You'll explain the survey, fill out forms accurately, and track your own work hours and travel expenses while working from home as your base.

This vacancy is for a Field Representative (FR) position supporting Special Census (SC) operations for Aurora, IL.
Applicants selected will have their home as their Duty Station and will be required to travel throughout their local area.
Applicants must have one year of general experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility as described below.
General experience is being progressively responsible in clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
OR 2 years of education above high school. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for which both education and experience are acceptable.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Major Duties:
Conducts interviews primarily in person (door to door) and when requested may conduct phone interviews to SC data as required within an assigned geographic area.
Communicates with respondents, supervisors, and other persons as appropriate.
Understands SC materials in order to explain the purpose of the SC, ask questions as worded on the questionnaire and enters accurate and complete information onto SC forms.
Canvass and travel around an area in an organized manner to find and verify living quarters.
Maintains personal payroll records that reflect hours worked, miles driven, and reimbursements for travel and communications claimed. Completes and attends in-person training.
