Requirements

As a Field Investigator, you will play a critical role in the oversight of the re-entry process by conducting thorough furlough investigations and criminal background checks on prospective sponsors. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining detailed case files, drafting formal reports, and composing professional correspondence to judges and correctional facilities to share vital investigative findings. In addition, you will manage a logbook and collaborate with various agencies to identify any potential concerns regarding specific furlough requests. By evaluating problematic areas and providing expert input to staff, you will help inform furlough decisions while remaining vigilant in reporting any suspicious, noncompliant, or threatening behaviors that may arise during the investigative process.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week once your training period has been completed.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in public contact work, including two years of experience in field investigation or law enforcement work; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
