About the Position: This position is located within the U.S. Army Installation Management Command, Directorate of Public Works, Master Planning Division, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting studies to determine optimum space utilization to accommodate specific program requirements; 2) Identifying requirements for real property to meet mission requirements; and 3) Advising organizational representatives concerning the use of facilities.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Customer Service Decision Making Flexibility Integrity/Honesty Interpersonal Skills Learning Reading Comprehension Reasoning Self-Management Stress Tolerance Teamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Major Duties:

  • Analyze and evaluate facility assignment impacts.
  • Responsible for facility plans to accommodate constantly changing missions.
  • Advise the installation command group and organizational representatives concerning assignment and use of facilities.
  • Provide data critical to the preparation of headquarters-level decision papers regarding stationing and relocation plans.
  • Assist in the preparation of mobilization planning studies.
  • Identify under/over-utilized real property through the conduct or review of real property space surveys.
