  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and equipment maintenance
  • Customer service skills for assisting visitors, co-workers, and contractors

Job Description
The Facility Program Assistant will be responsible for maintaining facilities at Lucky Shoals Park Community Recreation Center. This role involves setting up for events and rentals, assisting in programming and event planning, and providing both internal and external customer service.

Essential Duties
  • Maintaining facility and grounds by sweeping and mopping floors, removing trash, vacuuming, and performing related custodial duties
  • Setting up and arranging rooms for classes, rentals, and special events
  • Providing administrative support by maintaining maintenance records, safety documents, and basic reports
  • Assists customers, citizens, co-workers, and contractors with general questions and concerns regarding event/rental information and/or maintenance/repair
  • Assisting with programming duties by answering phone calls, processing registration fees, completing rental and program contracts, and reviewing rental documents for accuracy
  • Collecting and refunding money, issuing receipts, and balancing money received daily
  • Maintaining facility equipment by completing tasks such as changing oil, stripping, and waxing floors, changing light bulbs, and performing other general maintenance
  • Overseeing work performed by inmates and volunteers
  • Maintaining related inventory of janitorial and maintenance supplies and corresponding Safety Data Sheets
  • Performing all other duties as assigned
Grade
The grade for this position is B21(2). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma AND
  • Two years of facility and grounds maintenance or related recreation support experience
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Driver's License
  • CPR (within 6 months of employment)
  • First Aid (within 6 months of employment)
