What you will be doing: Facilities Manager 2 in the Division of Facilities Services provides development, direction, scoping, planning and project management functions to support facilities management, maintenance, operations, new construction/renovation, and onsite tenant coordination activities involved in the management of facilities.
The Facility Manager 2 is an advanced journey-level position, responsible for independent facility planning and management for assigned facilities.
This Facilities Manager 2 position provides broad input to the plans and objectives for all facilities within the Division of Facilities Services, particularly the Juneau Hub portfolio.
The position interacts and works with diverse personnel throughout all state agencies.
This position is required to respond to a major disaster to assist with Incident Command System (ICS) duties such as supporting an operations center to organize facility assessments and repairs subsequent to major disaster events (earthquakes, tsunamis, extreme weather, etc.).
Ideally, be certified or working toward certification as a project management professional (PMP) and have working knowledge of applying Lean Six Sigma techniques and concepts.
