The incumbent serves as a Drapery Fabricator helper responsible for performing basic fabricating and servicing drapery in support of journey level fabric worker.
This is a career ladder position requiring the incumbent to perform progressively more complex duties and responsibilities leading to the full performance level.

General knowledge of performing basic upholstery tasks involving: 1.) drapery and sewing machines 2.) Fabricating and servicing drapery Major Duties:
Tour of duty for this positon is Monday - Friday 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Responsibilities: Drapery Fabrication Work: Assist journey level Drapery Fabricator with preparing, installing, and servicing drapery. Use equipment to include irons and steamers.
Assist with performing basic operation of regular and industrial sewing machines. Assist with, and hand sews several types of fabrics to include for window treatments.
Performs shop upkeep to include daily sweeping of floor, general cleaning and basic maintenance of the shop equipment.
Upholsterer Tasks: Performs general upholstery tasks involving cleaning and conditioning leather and fabric furniture.
Assists in rebuilding seats and backs by using old cover or established pattern as a guide.
Removes old covering and padding, checks and repairs seat frame; secures and ties seat springs; cuts and sews new covering and adds padding to seat, adjusting amount to ensure proper fit of covering under supervision.
Uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as appropriate. Performs other related duties as assigned. This position has full performance level to the WG-9.
