This job involves supporting the executive team of a state agency that provides legal defense for people who can't afford lawyers in criminal and juvenile cases, especially when there's a conflict with the public defender's office.
You'll help organize leadership's work, coordinate trainings for legal teams, and manage administrative tasks to keep everything running smoothly.
It's a great fit for someone who's highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys using technology to support a mission-driven organization focused on access to justice.

The ADC employs more than 40 full-time staff and works with approximately 1,300 contractors statewide to ensure constitutionally mandated representation. The agency operates within legislative, budgetary, and policy constraints to provide holistic representation across the state.
Do you enjoy organizing work, helping leaders stay focused on what matters most, and making sure programs run smoothly behind the scenes? This role offers an opportunity to support a team working every day to strengthen access to justice across Colorado.
The Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel (ADC) seeks an Executive & Training Specialist to support a mission-driven statewide agency. This position supports executive leadership and coordinates trainings for legal teams who provide court-appointed defense representation across Colorado.
The ADC is the legislatively created state agency responsible for providing client services and legal representation for indigent individuals (adults and youth) when the state has charged them with a criminal or delinquent act, and the state public defender’s office has a conflict of interest.
Traditionally, the ADC has accomplished this by contracting with over 400 private attorneys and another 500 legal service providers (forensic social workers/clinical advocates, paralegals, investigators, legal researchers, case assistants, etc.) to provide client services on an hourly basis.
Our fundamental belief is that good holistic legal defense teams produce good results for our clients.
You are highly organized and detail-oriented and can manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. You are comfortable supporting leadership, coordinating events, and organizing information so leadership can make decisions efficiently.
You are comfortable using technology to communicate information, manage documents, and support virtual meetings or trainings. You work well independently and with supervision, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
You communicate clearly, collaborate well with others, and take pride in ensuring work is accurate, organized, and well executed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 4–6 years of relevant professional experience supporting leadership, coordinating programs or trainings, or managing complex administrative work;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating strong organizational and coordination skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Experience coordinating meetings, schedules, events, or trainings.
Experience coordinating complex workflows independently.
