Job Description

Summary

This role supports the Director of the Defense Health Agency by handling daily administrative tasks like managing schedules, arranging travel, and preparing documents.

It acts as the main contact for communications and ensures important materials are organized and routed correctly.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Director, Defense Health Agency.
  • Completes a variety of administrative tasks including, managing an active calendar of appointments; composing and proofreading correspondence; and arranging detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas.
  • Research, edit, and summarize a wide variety of subject material pertinent to the organization.
  • Provide final quality assurance review of work products such as draft directives, decision papers, issue papers, and other similar correspondence prepared for the Director, Defense Health Agency signature.
  • Read incoming mail and utilizes knowledge of leadership's priority activities to route incoming material or refer mail to other personnel where appropriate.
