Join our team! Saint Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS) is hiring a Public Information Specialist I to support community outreach, public education, and events that help residents understand their drinking water system.

In this role, you will help lead outreach and education efforts that connect residents with information about their water service, infrastructure projects, and conservation programs.

Working closely with engineering, operations, and customer service teams, you will help ensure customers receive timely, clear, and accessible information about the services that affect their neighborhoods.

Here’s what you can expect to do:

  • Community Outreach and Engagement Build relationships with neighborhood organizations, community groups, and partner agencies. Represent SPRWS at community meetings and coordinate outreach related to water programs and infrastructure projects.

  • Public Education and Events Plan and support plant tours, school presentations, educational programs, and community events that increase public understanding of the drinking water system.

  • Public Information and Messaging Develop clear, plain-language communications that help customers understand water services, construction activities, and programs.

  • Digital Communications Create and manage content for SPRWS social media and digital platforms to share timely updates and public information.

  • Website Content Management Maintain and update website information to ensure customers can easily find accurate information about water services and programs.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required. No substitution for education. A Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Graphic Design is preferred.

AND

  • One year of experience in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Graphic Design is required
