Job Duties:

Under direct supervision of the Food and Nutrition Program Coordinator performs general casework duties by determining clients' eligibility for the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP).

Assist with planning and administration of Farmer training and certification, voucher distribution, and financial monitoring of bank transactions and budgetary information.

Assist in the statewide effort to increase participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and reduce food insecurity through the Food and Nutrition Programs.


  • Assists with operation of the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program, to include but not limited to, working extensively with potential clients and determining eligibility for participation in SFMNP, assist with incoming calls and make outgoing calls for the SFMNP and other Food and Nutrition Programs as required, SFMNP vendor recruitment, compliance reviews, information dissemination, federal and state reporting, and program monitoring.

Assists in the statewide effort to increase participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and reduce food insecurity through all Food and Nutrition Programs.

Assists in the development and maintenance of Food and Nutrition Program policies and procedures.

Provides nutrition, dietary, and food management information to the state/local staff and participants of the Food and Nutrition Programs.

Assists in the development and maintenance of Food and Nutrition Program policies and procedures.

Participates in Consultation Sharing Sessions and community outreach activities as appropriate to Food and Nutrition Programs.


Serves as backup to assist with the coordination and maintenance of the Disaster SNAP (D-SNAP) plans for each county. Coordinates training related to the implementation of the D-SNAP program.

Assist with training related to the implementation of the D-SNAP program.

If necessary, provide assistance with implementation of a state DSNAP to include, but not limited to, DSNAP response, application submission, benefit issuance/EBT services, certification, and post DSNAP reporting.


  • Serves as a member of the State Disaster Emergency Response Team (ESF 11). Team members report to the State Emergency Operations Center as needed to assist in the acquisition and delivery of USDA food for disaster feeding operations.

  • Performs emergency disaster management services, to include but not limited to, Red Cross sheltering and Mass Care. Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

A High School Diploma and five (5) years of experience in general administrative, management, health, social services, correctional, education, business administration or relevant program experience.

An Associate Degree and three (3) years of experience in general administrative, management, health, social services, correctional, education, business administration or relevant program experience.

A Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of experience in general administrative, management, health, social services, correctional, education, business administration or relevant program experience.
