Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing inventory, tools, and supplies for naval aviation maintenance, ensuring everything runs smoothly for aircraft repairs and operations at a naval facility.

You'll handle requisitions, monitor finances, and coordinate with teams to support production and depot-level maintenance for Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.

It's a good fit for someone with hands-on experience in supply chain and inventory management in a technical or military setting, who enjoys problem-solving and working with detailed processes.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 in aircraft, aviation equipment, maintenance, or supply chain management

  • Expertise in inventory management, supply programs, and tool room operations
  • Proficiency in analyzing and resolving complex inventory issues, including supply processes and data management
  • Ability to use automated supply databases for accurate inventory tracking
  • Experience in managing financial targets for repair programs and coordinating with supply teams

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Demonstrated knowledge in the fields of aircraft, aviation equipment requirements, maintenance, and supply chain management relationships.

- Expertise and comprehensive knowledge of inventory management and supply program relationships.

- Proficiency in methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of tool room operations, with the ability to independently analyze and resolve complex inventory management issues, including supply processes, work methods, supply data management, and day-to-day operational procedures.

- Knowledge and proficiency in utilizing automated supply databases for accurate inventory management determinations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will provide working knowledge of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 (Series) (Naval Aviation Maintenance Program) and the U.S. Navy Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) program, with the ability to ensure tool room processes adhere to NAMP standards.
  • You will ensure that both the ISR (parts and material) and the Tool Room areas provide the best possible support to the Production Department at FRC WESTPAC.
  • You will manage and monitor the financial operating target for the In-Service Repairs (ISR) requirements.
  • You will coordinate all work with the ISR Program Managers, ISR Supply support team, deployed ISR teams, and the Material Control Officer as necessary.
  • You will oversee, recommend, and assist with the requisitioning and the expediting of material, equipment and tools for the ISR program at FRC WESTPAC.
  • You will conduct inventory of ISR material and tooling on-hand and assists with the reconciliation of the inventory records.
  • You will provide responsive worldwide Depot Level Maintenance (DLM), including airframes, support equipment (SE) overhaul and In-Service Repairs (ISR) to all Forward Deployed U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft ashore and afloat.
  • You will execute site visits or the like, to FRC WESTPAC detachments to inspect ISR materials, parts, tools and continually improve supply department support of ISR jobs.
