This job involves performing basic upkeep and small fixes on city vehicles and heavy equipment, such as checking fluids, changing oil, washing vehicles, and logging maintenance work, all under the guidance of supervisors.
It's a hands-on role in a government support department that keeps the city's fleet running smoothly.
A good fit would be someone reliable with practical experience in vehicle care, who doesn't mind physical work and can follow instructions well.
This announcement may be used for day or evening shift opportunities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on motor vehicles and equipment.Inspect and add fluids to vehicles and equipment and lubricate all vehicles and equipment.Change oil and filters and repair tires.Clean and wash vehicles, equipment, motors and chassis.Refer any unusual or non-routine maintenance work to appropriate personnel.Document maintenance and repair in the fleet management system.Keep work area clean and orderly.Park and deliver motor vehicles and equipment.
Clean shop and work areas and care for tools.Maintain repair and maintenance logs and records.May be required to communicate directly with fleet coordinators.
Qualifications Eighth Grade education and verifiable work experience performing routine maintenance on motor vehicles and/or equipmentLICENSES REQUIREDValid Driver LicenseCandidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
