Full Job Description

This is a Civil-Service position within the Nashville Public Library. The Equipment and Suply Clerk position performs duties involving entering, tracking, and closing work orders.

Reviews supply requests, orders supplies, receives and distributes supplies, and tracks related expenses.

This job requires pushing carts, walking, standing, bending, and lifting objects that weigh 20-50 pounds. Requisitions for Library programs and services as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Assists with inventory controls.
  • Reads and interprets work orders.
  • Coordinates with suppliers for quote requests and related documentation following Metro procurement guidelines.
  • Coordinates documentation with Library Program Liaisons and suppliers to requisition programmers.
  • Issues equipment and supplies and assists with estimating supply needs.
  • Receives and stocks inventory.
  • Assists with coordinating delivery and/or service dates with vendors.
  • Maintains accurate records and makes reports.
  • Cross-trains with Equipment and Supply Clerk within the department.
  • Communicates with staff regarding order status.
  • May assist with training employees.
  • May investigate order/billing discrepancies.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.

Additional Information
