The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Northern Region Highways and Aviation, is looking for an Equipment Operator Journey 2 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
You will operate heavy equipment and work with a maintenance crew to keep Nome’s highways open, safe, and maintained year-round.

This position is based in Nome, Alaska
You will work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions. This position will work during winter storms, shift work, and physically demanding tasks.
You’ll operate heavy equipment on highways and rural roads, working as part of a tight-knit crew that relies on teamwork, safety, and clear communication to get the job done.

COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIRED
This position requires the incumbent to possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) per federal regulations (49 CFR 383), to register with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse prior to performing safety sensitive duties, and to provide consent to the Employer to review driver information in accordance with 49 CFR 382.
A Class A Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required at time of hire. A conditional hire approval can only be given for endorsements.
This means that the proposed appointee must successfully obtain an N-Tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
