This seasonal job involves operating heavy machinery to maintain and build roads, trails, and facilities in Pennsylvania's state forests, along with performing hands-on repair and upkeep tasks like clearing culverts and painting structures.
It's a full-time role from March to November, ideal for someone with practical experience in equipment handling who enjoys outdoor work and contributing to natural resource preservation.
A good fit would be a reliable, safety-focused individual comfortable with physical labor in a forest setting without remote work options.

As an Equipment Operator B, your primary duty is to safely operate heavy equipment and vehicles while conducting the maintenance, repair, and construction of state forest roads and facilities.
This includes the operation of equipment such as road graders, track or rubber-tired loaders, bulldozers, snow groomers, farm-type tractors and stone rakes, tractors with side or rear-mounted flail or rotary mowers, dump and other trucks in excess of 32,000 pounds GVWR and up to 80,000 pounds GCWR, pick-up trucks, tilt-bed trucks, and more.
In addition to operating equipment, you will perform preventative maintenance by completing minor repairs on vehicles and equipment and assisting mechanics with major repairs to equipment.
When not assigned to equipment operation, you will perform a variety of tasks in the maintenance and repair of public facilities, buildings, roads, trails, bridges, and grounds.
These assignments require the utilization of various tools and equipment associated with a wide-range of trade areas.
Other projects may include various construction and maintenance tasks such as cleaning culverts, seeding roads, building headwalls, cutting grass, digging post holes, painting, and brushing forest boundary lines.
