This job involves operating heavy machinery to maintain and improve state park facilities, like roads, trails, and utilities, while also handling manual labor and equipment upkeep to keep the park safe and welcoming for visitors.
It's perfect for someone who loves outdoor work, enjoys hands-on tasks with big equipment, and wants to contribute to preserving Pennsylvania's natural areas as part of a team.
Expect a full-time role with varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a beautiful park setting.

In this position, you will perform tasks in the operation and upkeep of the facilities at the Laurel Hill Complex state park.
Your work will play a vital role in supporting the bureau's mission to safeguard and preserve the natural resources of the commonwealth.
You will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery, such as backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, high-lifts, and front-end loaders with a bucket capacity of three cubic yards or more.
These tasks will support construction, maintenance, and grounds work, including snow removal and cindering. Additionally, you will operate skid loaders, tractors, mowers, trucks, and UTVs as needed.
Your duties will also include maintaining and improving dirt and gravel roads, shelter access roads, trails, and administrative roads.
This involves cleaning ditches, berms, and culverts, as well as installing headwalls when required.
When not operating machinery, you will engage in manual labor for assigned projects, such as loading and unloading trucks, and installing or repairing underground utilities like water, sewer, and electric lines.
Maintenance tasks will consist of lubricating equipment, changing oil, fuel, and air filters, sharpening mower blades, and inspecting for any worn or broken parts.
