The Department of Human Services is seeking motivated and energetic Equipment Operators to join the support services team at Wernersville State Hospital.
In this role, you will use your experience with different types of equipment and machinery to maintain the safety, efficiency, and overall condition of the hospital’s buildings and grounds.

As an Equipment Operator A, your primary responsibility will be providing transportation for consumers, along with performing other assigned duties as needed.
This role involves operating a variety of vehicles and equipment to transport supplies, maintain the grounds in a safe and visually appealing condition, and carry out snow and ice removal.
You will be responsible for routine maintenance of equipment and vehicles, including cleaning interiors and exteriors, waxing, performing minor repairs, conducting preventive maintenance, and assisting the automotive mechanic with more complex repairs when necessary.
Prior to leaving the grounds, you will be expected to complete safety checks and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
Additionally, you will perform manual tasks using both powered and non-powered tools, load and unload trucks, clean streets and catch basins, and maintain landscaped areas by cutting and trimming grass and brush.
