Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping run a program that ensures fair treatment and equal opportunities for employees in the U.S.

Marine Corps, including handling complaints about discrimination and advising leaders on related policies.

A good fit would be someone with experience in workplace fairness programs, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a military setting, possibly overseas in Japan where medical access is limited.

Key Requirements

Full Job Description

You will serve as a DEPUTY DIRECTOR EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY OFFICER in the Marine Corps Installation Pacific (MCIPAC) of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER .

Please see Additional Information section below.*** Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: executing and evaluating a civilian federal equal employment opportunity (EEO) program to include advising on the application of equal employment opportunity (EEO) program requirements and developing strategic initiatives and recommendations for senior leaders.

Experience in problem solving techniques used in the EEO and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) programs.

  • You will advise leadership, line and staff personnel on matters concerning the development and implementation of EEO regulations, interpretation of policy and training requirements.
  • You will process complaints of discrimination in accordance with 29 CFR 1614, EEOC Management Directive-110 and other applicable Department of Navy and US Marine Corps policies and procedures.
  • You will direct and review analyses of EEO laws, court decisions, regulations, personnel policies to determine the impact on the various installations serviced activities and recommend appropriate program and policy changes.
  • You will prepare periodic and annual reports as mandated by laws, regulations, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
  • You will develop assigned program activities, including the Affirmative Employment Programs, Special Emphasis Programs (including Federal Women's Program, Hispanic Employment Program, and Disability Employment Program).
  • You will collect and compile statistics, conduct barrier analysis of current workforce through special studies to assess program and to develop approaches, methods and/or procedures to improve representation of targeted groups.
  • You will prepare program publicity and/or local instructions implementing portion(s) of the EEO related programs, and/or activities.
