Full Job Description

You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist for COMMANDER NAVY REGION EUROPE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identifying, planning, organizing, and developing program solutions to issues impacting environmental compliance; 2) Conducting detailed analysis of proposed regulations, processes, procedures, and principles for integrating environmental factors to improve operational processes and procedures; and 3) Reviewing environmental standards, specifications, and plans of complex projects in order to ensure compliance with environmental requirements; and 4) Overseeing budgeting formulation and execution for environmental programs.

  • You will serve as the Regional Environmental Policy Director, supervising Region Program Managers for various programs.
  • You will be responsible for overall program management and administration of Environmental Policy Programs and will coordinate with necessary stakeholders to ensure program success.
  • You will be responsible for all environmental policy and regulatory subjects, including and not limited to: air emissions, asbestos, waste water, hazardous materials, petroleum, oil and lubricants, spill prevention and response, hazardous waste.
  • You will develop, formulate and evaluate policy for environmental protection and compliance throughout the Regional Commander's area of responsibility.
  • You will direct and monitor the utilization of resources, proactively conserve resources and request additional resources required to support mission effectiveness.
  • You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
