Summary

This job involves helping the U.S.

Marine Corps in New Orleans ensure their operations follow environmental laws by reviewing projects, conducting inspections, and advising leaders on issues like clean air, water management, and hazardous waste.

Full Job Description

You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the MARFORRES NOLA.

GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing numerous federal, state, and local laws to provide advice to leadership and tenant organizations on various media, such as clean air, water resources management, hazardous and toxic materials, and/or resource conservation and recovery; and reviewing projects to identify potential environmental regulatory and permit requirements GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:Reviewing environmental documents, conducting inspections or studies, preparing reports, and providing training to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

  • You will be responsible for executing to set project schedules and budgets in conformance with project requirements.
  • You will review work to ensure that congressional, environmental, and administrative constraints on project scope and cost are not exceeded or violated.
  • You will represent the command policy and technical expertise with regards to environmental programs and policy, environmental remediation, environmental compliance and pollution prevention.
  • You will coordinate and conduct required inspections of hazardous wastes generation points, accumulation and storage sites.
  • You will promote sustainable practices that go beyond environmental compliance to include integrating environmental stewardship into all planning activities and leverage the necessary resources to accomplish sustainability goals and objectives.
