This vacancy is for a GS-0028-11, Environmental Protection Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S.
Coast Guard, BASE GUAM FACILITIES ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT -F in SANTA RITA, Guam.
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the federal sector.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Managing a Hazardous Waste/Hazardous Material program.
Acting as an On-Scene Incident Commander within an Incident Command System. Training personnel in HAZMAT standard procedures.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
You will serve as an Environmental Manager and be responsible for managing all aspects of the hazardous waste facility for a multi-mission military facility.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Preparing environmental documentation using knowledge of local resources and plans.
Developing/maintaining a facility wide Hazardous Waste/Hazardous Material safety program. Acting as emergency on-scene incident commander for Base Guam.
Providing training on Hazardous Waste/Hazardous Material procedures Acting as Base Guam pollution prevention coordinator.
