This position is being recruited for in Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla, Fairbanks, or Juneau.
Pay will be determined based on level and location of selected individual.
Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla salary: $26.66 / $30.62 / $35.28
Fairbanks salary: $27.46 / $31.54 / $36.34
Juneau salary: $27.99 / $32.15 / $37.04
What you will be doing:
The Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Water is recruiting a flexibly staffed Environmental Program Specialist (EPS) I/II/III position in the Compliance Program.
You will work with a team of experienced environmental professionals across the beautiful State of Alaska to make a difference in protecting water quality, human health, and the environment.
Work in this position will focus primarily on conducting inspections and providing compliance assistance at sites throughout the State in a variety of sectors, including the Mining, Oil & Gas, Construction, and Seafood industries.
The Compliance Program is filled with knowledgeable individuals who are passionate about the environment and happy to provide training to pass along valuable information that will help you perform these duties and grow within this position.

The working environment you can expect:
The work environment of this position will be primarily in an office setting, with opportunities to travel across the State for inspections throughout the year.
The position is being recruited Statewide – you will work with other inspectors in the Anchorage, Wasilla, and Juneau offices and have daily communication with your Supervisor in the Anchorage office.
Due to the nature of the work, frequency of travel, and being a part of a team located across the State, remote work may be available after your probationary period (typically 1 year).
The normal day to day of this position will require coordination with other sections within the Division of Water, other Departments, the regulated community, and Federal, City, and State agencies.
