About the Position: This position is located within the Army Health Clinic at Presidio of Monterey, California. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Relocation incentives MAY be authorized. This is a TERM/Obligated Position Not to Exceed 3 Years.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on programs concerned with the elimination and prevention of environmental health hazards, conducting surveys and implement measures to control the spread of diseases and other health hazards or conditions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Major Duties:

  • Serve as the Environmental Health Technician, responsible for the evaluation and corrective actions to address Environmental Health and Sanitation.
  • Present formal and informal classes to military and civilian personnel such as food service sanitation, climatic injury prevention, medical threat briefings, travel medicine, Child Youth Services and Family Child Care health.
  • Monitor performance standards for the quality control and assurance programs, validate methods and procedures, and evaluate data.
  • Recommend measures for correction and control of noted deficiencies.
  • Write reports delineating findings with recommendations for corrective action.
