The Department of Corrections is actively seeking a skilled Environmental Engineer Consultant to play a crucial part within the Bureau of Operations and enhance our team.
This position uniquely combines engineering knowledge with operational and regulatory advisory services, with a primary emphasis on utility management and environmental issues.

In this position, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities that require a unique combination of engineering, operational, and regulatory expertise.
Your work will involve managing utility systems and addressing environmental issues within the department.
Some of your duties will include providing technical support and guidance, preparing various reports and permit applications, and assisting in the coordination of activities of outside contractors and the institutional personnel for projects.
While you may not have direct supervisory responsibilities, you may be called upon to intervene in rare situations to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Additionally, this position is vital to the department's Continuity of Government Relocation Team, which is responsible for maintaining essential functions in the event of an emergency.
You will work closely with the relocation team to ensure a smooth transition and continued efficiency in operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week upon successful completion of the 6-month training period.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechaniscburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
