Join the Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Clean Water, Municipal Facilities Division, and take on advanced, complex environmental engineering responsibilities that help protect Pennsylvania’s water resources.

Under the direction of the Section Manager, this position provides essential engineering support to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) Program.
Primary responsibilities include supporting the design and construction of wastewater systems, drinking water systems, and non-point source or stormwater management projects.
These duties also extend to projects funded through other state and federal grant and loan programs.This position also assists with statewide oversight of water infrastructure improvement projects funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and administered by the PENNVEST Program.
Your work will help ensure that funded projects meet technical, regulatory, and programmatic requirements while advancing critical water infrastructure improvements across the Commonwealth.In addition, this role collaborates closely with the PENNVEST-selected third-party technical assistance provider.
This includes helping ensure that potential applicants receive accurate guidance on program requirements and providing general oversight and support for the technical assistance contract as needed.Interested in learning more?

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
Graduate study in environmental engineering or in a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis; or
Conditions of Employment:
This position requires possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
