This job involves leading and running educational programs to teach people, especially students, about protecting the environment through hands-on activities in schools, parks, and centers across Pennsylvania.

As an Environmental Education Regional Program Coordinator, you will serve as the face of environmental stewardship, providing the tools and knowledge necessary for Pennsylvanians to protect our air, land, and water for years to come.
Within this role, you will provide vital support for environmental education throughout Pennsylvania by delivering a wide-range of programs for students.
Programs may occur in parks, environmental centers, regional offices, conservation districts, and public or private schools.
You will also collaborate with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to coordinate and facilitate professional development and teacher enrichment workshops.
Additional key responsibilities include assisting in updating and upgrading DEP’s environmental education-related website content, maintaining the Environmental Education and Information Center at the Rachel Carson State Office Building, and promoting the DEP Falcon Program.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
