This role involves leading a team of engineers and scientists in the Department of the Navy, focusing on designing, testing, and maintaining advanced undersea warfare systems like submarines and torpedoes.
The job requires overseeing projects from development to ongoing support, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently.
It's ideal for an experienced technical leader with a strong background in engineering or science who enjoys managing teams and solving complex problems in a military setting.
You will serve as the C40 Department Chief Engineer/Scientist in the Undersea System and Sustainment Engineering Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist leading the technical design, test and evaluation, and in-service engineering and lifecycle supportability requirements for Undersea Warfare Systems and Platforms.
