The Department of Transportation is seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Technician to become a vital member of our Survey Team.

This entry-level position is designed to equip you with the skills necessary for more advanced and technical fieldwork within District 5, all while collaborating with experienced professionals in the industry.

Ideal candidates will possess a foundational understanding of surveying and engineering technologies, familiarity with both digital and traditional surveying equipment, and a solid grasp of mathematical concepts.

Requirements

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time upon successful completion of probationary period.

In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

• This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
