Requirements

In this position, you will engage in a range of introductory technical tasks focused on surveying, aimed at developing your skills in the essential data types, equipment, and methodologies utilized in this field. Your responsibilities will include executing basic engineering assignments that incorporate surveying principles to gather and analyze data critical for the design and construction of highways and bridges. Additionally, you will take part in training sessions that cover the operation, setup, and optimal use of various surveying tools, including Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software and global positioning systems. This hands-on experience will be vital in enhancing your proficiency and understanding of the surveying discipline.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.


Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
