Base salary range: $51,332 - $66,732
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-8. Master's degree or 2 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves managing temporary services and systems on ships at a naval shipyard, such as installing and removing equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency to support production work.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on technical experience in engineering support, strong planning skills, and the ability to mentor teams in a structured environment like the military or manufacturing.
It requires attention to detail for tracking issues and presenting updates to keep operations running smoothly.
You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the CHIEF ENGINNER, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience preparing deficiency reports, tracking deficiency trends in accordance with directives.
*Experience developing long and short-range plans for temporary services and systems to support production workload needs.
*Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring plans to mitigate risks in temporary services and systems.
*Experience mentoring and advising project supervisors and production employees on administrative and technical matters related to temporary services.
*Experience effectively preparing and presenting reports and presentations.
