Job Description
This position reports to the Department of Water Resources, Engineering & Construction (E&C) Division and is assigned to the Linear group. The role requires demonstrated experience in project management, along with knowledge of the design, bidding, and construction phases of infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design, construction, and project management of water and wastewater systems. The incumbent must possess strong problem-solving and negotiation skills and be able to communicate effectively with county leadership, peers, staff, and the public.

Essential Duties
  • Manage projects through completion while ensuring compliance with approved scope, schedule, budget, and established technical specifications.
  • Oversee the Utility Relocation Program and provide supervision and direction to associated project managers
  • Coordinate with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), Gwinnett County Department of Transportation (GCDOT), and municipal projects within Gwinnett County.
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule after an initial probationary period and individual approval.
Grade
The grade for this position is 107. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering AND
  • Six years of progressively responsible engineering experience, some of which should be in a supervisory capacity.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Valid Driver’s License from state of residency.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
