This job involves working as an engineer to ensure safety in manufacturing explosives and energetic materials at a naval facility, by assessing hazards, reviewing procedures, and leading safety programs to prevent accidents.
A good fit would be someone with engineering experience in safety analysis, especially in high-risk environments like manufacturing or defense, who is detail-oriented and comfortable leading teams in audits and investigations.
You will serve as an ENGINEER in the Ordnance Assurance and Safety Office (00SA) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project.
The ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-9/10/11 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer, conducting hazard assessments utilizing safety engineering principles, standards, or techniques to identify safety hazards and risk mitigation procedures for manufacturing processes ensuring compliance with facility programs.
