Full Job Description

You will serve as an ENGINEER in the Atlantic Test Facilities Division of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: as a professional engineer providing undersea tracking range subject matter expertise to manage strategic range operations, configuration management, operations planning, perform cost analyses, and/or support test and evaluation efforts of complex systems for ensuring system performance standards are assessed.

  • You will serve as the Chief Engineer (CHENG) for the AUTEC Program, responsible for providing department-level oversight of the technical execution of AUTEC's projects.
  • You will ensure compliance with external and internal engineering instructions and requirements and help define the systems engineering processes and tools for the AUTEC Program.
  • You will participate in development of technical solutions of complex engineering problems in areas related to USW Range Technology, Industrial Services, Systems Engineering, and for development and integration.
  • You will provide leadership to facilitate technical exchanges on engineering and technology development activities.
  • You will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the AUTEC's technical efforts and processes.
  • You will ensure Research and Development activity identifies and evaluates advanced technologies and processes.
  • You will promote partnership with other departments at Division Newport and other Naval Warfare Centers on technology and strategy initiatives/proposals.
