Requirements
This role is tasked with the implementation of initiatives focused on enhancing the security of the electric grid and bolstering energy resilience. A key responsibility includes overseeing the grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, specifically aimed at preventing outages and improving the resilience of the electric grid. Additionally, this position plays a crucial role in providing technical assistance to the Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) emergency response efforts, particularly during situations that involve disruptions in energy supply. Furthermore, the role encompasses the responsibility of conducting educational outreach to both internal stakeholders and external partners, with the goal of promoting the grant programs offered by the Energy Programs Office (EPO). This outreach also aims to inform residents of Pennsylvania about the advantages of adopting available technologies that enhance the resilience, reliability, and security of various energy systems utilized throughout the state.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may require overnight travel as needed.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67, 736.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional experience in energy resources, energy utilization and conservation, energy technologies, or the economic impacts of energy issues, and a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Energy Policy;
or
- Three years of professional experience in energy resources, energy utilization and conservation, energy technologies, or the economic impacts of energy issues and a bachelor's degree; or
- A master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Energy Policy; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
