Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves working as an electronics technician for the U.S.
Navy, providing hands-on technical support for communication systems on ships, including testing, repairing, and troubleshooting radios and encryption devices both in port and at sea.
A good fit would be someone with experience in electronics or electrical engineering who enjoys problem-solving in a military environment and can handle urgent support needs for naval operations.
You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Engineering Department of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using ancillary and special purpose test equipment to support Line of Sight Exterior Communication Systems (LOS EXCOM) interfaces and; 2) Applying electrical engineering theories and practices to solve problems and; 3) Implementing applicable specifications and regulations pertaining to design, maintenance, safety and operation of assigned equipment/system and; 4) Providing technical services and on scene support to support various radio systems (i.e.
WSC-3 UHF Transceiver Radio, URT-23 Radio Systems, High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), VHF Radio, Black Audio Switchboards, Signal Encryption and Decryption services).
