Full Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This position is a Permanent WS-2604-11 ELECTRONICS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1261000 and is part of the MO Combined Support Maintenance Shop.

This is a non-bargaining position. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Army National Guard.

Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).

Maximum Military Grade - CW4 (W-4) Minimum Military Grade - WO1 (W-1) with date of rank before 5 April 2025 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience which demonstrates your ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.

WS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess specialized experience which demonstrates your ability to plan and organize work assignments for an electronics maintenance function.

The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to review work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; deal effectively with others and gain their cooperation in achieving common goals; and supervise through subordinate supervisors, or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate, skill at applying human relations techniques.

Experience must indicate knowledge of supervisory concepts and shop processes and adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

Experience must indicate a knowledge of the various lines of work performed by the electronics maintenance functions and associated support organization. Major Duties:

  • Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
  • Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor.
  • Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors.
  • Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
  • Redirects individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work.
  • Informs the supervisor of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources.
  • Participates with the supervisor in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work.
  • Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes.
  • Implements corrective actions within their authority to resolve work problems.
  • Recommends solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors.
  • Plans and establishes overall leave schedules.
  • Determines training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment.
  • Sets performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance.
  • Initiates recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates.
  • Performs the non-supervisory work of the function as needed.
  • Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
