This job involves leading a team of electronics mechanics at a naval shipyard, overseeing repairs and maintenance on electrical and electronic systems to keep projects on time and within budget.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in electronics repair who enjoys managing people, ensuring quality work, and coordinating with other teams in a fast-paced environment.
You will serve as an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the Electrical/Electronic Shop (Code 950) Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Applying knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and instruments, including current, voltage, resistance, Ohm's Law, series and parallel circuits, conductors, insulators.
Managing electrical and electronic work operations to meet established project deadlines.
Conducting quality checks of electronic equipment or products to determine quality, condition, or overall appearance. Interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and local procedures.
Finding trouble; determining method of repair; adjusting or replacing and testing repaired equipment Coordinating work with other units to meet a deadline. Managing electrical work operations.
Setting priorities and coordinating the availability of equipment for routine maintenance.
