This job involves repairing, testing, and maintaining complex electronic systems for naval aircraft and equipment at a fleet readiness center in California.
You'll work independently on overhauls, modifications, and troubleshooting, often using technical diagrams and test equipment.
It's a great fit for experienced mechanics who enjoy hands-on technical work and can provide expert advice to engineers.
You will serve as an Electronic Mechanic in the Facility and Infrastructure Management Department, Facility and Plant Maintenance Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: ???????(1) Implementing maintenance and repair procedures on major modifications of electronic systems; (2) Participating in the overhaul, disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of electronic systems; (3) Operating and maintaining complex automated test equipment (ATE); (4) Interpreting manufacturer's specifications, schematics, block diagrams, and technical orders; (5) Determining the operation of circuits and locating points from which to take readings; and (6) Analyzing circuit layouts to make visual inspections.
