Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a small team of mechanics at a U.S.

Army base in Kentucky, focusing on installing, repairing, and modifying electronic control systems for industrial equipment and energy monitoring.

It requires hands-on work with automatic and semi-automatic controls, including troubleshooting electric, electronic, and pneumatic systems, while assisting other maintenance teams.

A good fit would be someone with strong technical skills in electronics and mechanics, leadership experience in a team setting, and the ability to work independently under general supervision.

Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DOD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This position is with DPW at Fort Campbell, KY. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Have the ability to understand and use standards, requirements, needs, modification, replacement or overhaul of various automatic or semi-automatic controls, and assist other shops with troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing electric, electronic and pneumatic system controls.

Work on your own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. Major Duties:

  • Serve as working leader of 3 or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work.
  • Serve as Energy Monitoring and Control System and Control System control mechanic assisting the supervisory mechanical engineer with requirements, specifications, installation, replacement or overhaul of various automatic or semi-automatic controls.
  • Modify existing installed automatic or semi-automatic controls and sensors, utilized, serviced, operated and maintained by the organization.
  • Assist other shops in the Maintenance Division with troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing electric, electronic and pneumatic system controls.
