Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900
Typical requirements: Executive-level leadership experience. Senior executive qualifications required.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves working as an electrician at a naval shipyard, where you'll install, repair, and test electrical systems on ships, including wiring, alarms, motors, and lighting.
You'll use blueprints to plan and execute tasks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure everything meets safety and performance standards.
It's a great fit for experienced tradespeople who can work independently, handle complex electrical work safely, and collaborate with other teams in a hands-on shipbuilding environment.
You will serve as an Electrician in the Electrical/Electronic Shop (Code 950), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department) Code 900) at NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications to lay out and execute work.
Ability to skillfully use various electrical test equipment, including multimeters, meggers, and ammeters, to diagnose and verify electrical systems.
Ability to apply a working knowledge of shipboard electrical installation techniques, processes, and safety regulations.
Ability to safely and effectively operate a variety of power equipment (such as drill presses and hydraulic punches) and hand tools (like grinders and wrenches).
Ability to apply electrical trade theory and concepts to perform both routine and complex tasks across all disciplines of the trade with minimal supervision.
