Summary

This job is for an Electrician Leader at a U.S.

Army facility in Oklahoma, where you'll guide a team of electricians on daily tasks, make sure they have the right tools and plans, and check their work to meet safety and procedure standards.

It's a hands-on role that involves some physical labor in various conditions, like inside buildings or outdoors.

Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This position communicates instructions to other workers as directed by the supervisor, utilizing knowledge of electrical systems and practices Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electrician Leader without more than normal supervision.

Must possess the ability to perform common duties which include passing on directions to several employees in accomplishing trades and labor work associated with electrician work.

I can assign the task to be performed for proper electrician procedures, methods or techniques. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires the incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in uncomfortable positions.

The incumbent frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to and occasionally 20 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside buildings, shops, and outside.

Subject to contact with dirt, dust, and grease; shocks and bums from high voltage; cuts and bruises. Major Duties:

  • Assign the immediate tasks to be performed by individual subordinates.
  • Ensure that plans, blueprints, material and tools are available for jobs.
  • Check work in progress for compliance with the standard operating procedures.
  • Answer questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives.
  • Provide information to the supervisor on causes of delays, overall work operations and problems.
