Summary

This job involves working as an electrical engineer for the U.S.

Navy in Bremerton, Washington, where you'll design, plan, and oversee the installation and testing of electrical systems that support industrial operations in shipyards.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a ELECTRICAL ENGINEER in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF.

In addition to the basic education requirements, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer providing technical advice, guidance, and recommendations for the design, installation, and testing of industrial support electrical systems and components.

  • You will prepare manufacture drawings, calculations, Instructions, and direct or advise other engineers and technicians in the design, review, and specification of industrial support electrical systems and components.
  • You will perform planning, research, development, layout, and coordination of major industrial electrical equipment and system projects.
  • You will review previous projects, plans, applicable codes, and new developments in industrial processes and equipment to gain supplementary data to base development of assigned projects.
  • You will review project plans and specifications for adequacy of design, selection of materials and components, and to compare details with its intended use and interaction with other shipyard operations.
  • You will develop mathematical models of electrical assemblies and use models on a computer for detailed analysis for selection of optimum components and configuration to maximize the value and efficiency of the equipment.
  • You will recommend optimum arrangement and site for proposed equipment installations and ensure sites are suitable.
  • You will solve engineering problem(s) or refer it to the appropriate cognizant technical personnel.
  • You will request or provide cost estimates, provide budget justifications and funding information for the manufacture, procurement, maintenance, and operation of industrial support electrical systems and components.
